On November 1, a 10-year plan to address mental health and substance use with a focus on prevention of problems, early intervention, treatment and sustainability was released by the Province. We are delighted to report that within the 10-year plan, the Suicide PIP Initiative is identified in one of the recommendations:
Implement gatekeeper training programs as described within the Strengthening the Safety Net: A Report on the Suicide Prevention, Intervention & Postvention Initiative of BC,
to effectively identify and intervene with individuals at risk of suicide across the lifespan.
